It produces fine English wines and has won over 30 awards. It it's beautiful setting, a mile from the Norman castle at Framlingham, the 20 acre site offers wine tasting, tours of the winery and vineyard, light refreshments, shop and a play area for the children. The well-appointed walks around the vineyard take you past Rondo red grapes and then the more usual varieties including Bacchus, Reichensteiner, Müller Thurgau and Seyval Blanc. A wild flower meadow is being added to the walk in 2004. In 2003 Les Jarrett, who runs a Suffolk seed merchant and locally based tea blending and packing business, acquired the vineyard. The shop therefore now features locally blended and bagged tea, coffee and tisanes; something for everyone! |
